In this session, you’ll hand-build a ceramic incense dish and a small matching pot / match striker from soft white earthenware clay — a lovely handmade set for slow mornings, cosy evenings, or gifting to someone special.
This is all about playful, organic shapes and handmade charm. Think hand-pinched dishes, wonky rims, carved details, little painted motifs and a one-of-a-kind finish that feels personal and full of character. You can keep it simple and minimal, or decorate your set with carving, texture, shells, stars, florals, lines or tiny painted details.
You’ll be guided step-by-step through the whole process, from shaping your dish and pot to refining the details so they work beautifully together. Once your pieces are made, you’ll decorate them with underglaze colours and surface design to make them completely your own.
We’ll then dry, fire, glaze and re-fire your pieces for you, ready to collect a few weeks later once fully finished.
A lovely workshop for complete beginners and returning clay lovers alike — calm, creative, and very satisfying to make. A small handmade set with big cosy energy.
Duration: Approx. 2 hours
Clay: White earthenware clay
Level: Beginner-friendly
You’ll make: 1 incense dish + 1 small matching pot / striker
Includes: Tuition, clay, tools, underglaze colours, glazing and firing
