Christmas Gonk Workshop
Make your own ceramic Christmas gonks, complete with a magnificent beard, an oversized hat and plenty of personality. Something for your own Christmas collection, or a handmade present if you can bear to give it away.
We’ll show you how to build your gonk from clay, shaping the body before adding a nose, beard and hat. Make them tall and distinguished or short and chubby, then add the little details that make them yours.
Once you’ve finished building, you’ll decorate your gonk with colourful underglazes. Traditional reds and whites, stripes, spots or a leopard-print hat — Christmas can cope with a bit of artistic licence.
Bring a friend and compare creations, or come along on your own. No pottery experience needed; we’ll guide you through the making and decorating.
